Welcome to AstroVedicTime: Reading the Stars as They Are Right Now
Three weeks ago, a friend asked me why her carefully planned project kept hitting delays despite her best efforts. When I looked at her chart and the current transits, the answer was clear: Saturn retrograde in Pisces, sitting right on her natal Moon.
That conversation reminded me why I started studying Vedic astrology in the first place. Not for mystical predictions or vague fortune-telling, but for practical guidance rooted in thousands of years of observation. The planets move in patterns. We can learn to read those patterns.
That’s what AstroVedicTime is about.
What You’ll Find Here:
Weekly planetary forecasts that actually apply to your life
Clear explanations of major transits and what they mean
Vedic astrology basics without the overwhelming jargon
Honest takes on how cosmic timing affects real decisions
Why Vedic Astrology?
Western astrology gets a lot of attention, and it has value. But Vedic astrology (Jyotish) works differently. It uses the sidereal zodiac, calculates planetary strengths with precision, and treats prediction as a practical tool rather than entertainment.
I’ve been practicing for over a decade, and what keeps me coming back is this: Vedic astrology works. Not in a “the universe has a message for you” way, but in a “here’s what the planetary math suggests about timing” way.
What’s Happening in the Sky Right Now
Let me give you something useful right away. Here’s what’s going on as I write this:
Jupiter is moving direct at the final degrees of Gemini, approaching its entry into Cancer around October 18th. While Jupiter in Gemini can feel scattered or less focused, it’s still direct—meaning there’s energy for growth, learning, and curiosity, especially around communication and ideas. If you’ve felt pulled in many directions or flooded with information, it’s the mark of Jupiter finishing up in this mercurial sign. Later this month, as Jupiter enters Cancer, a tide shifts toward nurturing ourselves and our home base.
Saturn retrograde in Pisces at 3 degrees is asking us to rebuild our foundations with more compassion. Saturn retrograde always brings up old responsibilities we thought we’d handled. For Pisces, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Gemini rising folks, this one hits harder.
Mars in Libra is creating friction. Mars doesn’t do well in Libra (Venus’s sign), and at 13 degrees, it’s pushing us toward confrontations we’d rather avoid. Arguments about fairness and balance are common right now. The key is to act, not just debate.
Rahu in Aquarius and Ketu in Leo are still working through their 18-month cycle. This axis is about balancing innovation with self-expression. If you’re feeling pulled between fitting in and standing out, you’re right on schedule.
Try This:
Look at where Gemini and Pisces fall in your birth chart. Those houses are where you’re being asked to pause and reconsider right now.
What Makes This Substack Different
I’m not here to tell you that Mercury retrograde ruined your day or that you need to buy a specific crystal. Vedic astrology is a timing system. Think of it like checking the weather before you leave the house.
You wouldn’t blame the rain for getting wet if you ignored the forecast. Same with planetary transits.
My approach:
I’ll explain the astronomy first (what’s actually moving in the sky)
Then the astrological meaning (how tradition interprets it)
Then the practical application (what you might notice or choose to do about it)
No fluff. No fear tactics. Just patterns, timing, and tools.
What’s Coming
Every week, you’ll get a forecast covering major transits and what they mean for different rising signs. When something significant happens (eclipses, major conjunctions, planetary sign changes), you’ll hear about it in plain language.
I’ll also share practical guides: how to read your own chart, what nakshatras really mean, why some days feel easier than others.
Key Points to Remember:
Vedic astrology uses different calculations than Western astrology
Planetary movements create timing windows, not guarantees
Your rising sign (ascendant) matters more than your sun sign in this system
Retrograde planets aren’t “bad,” they’re just asking you to review
How did you find your way to Vedic astrology? Hit reply and let me know. I read every message.
If this approach to astrology resonates, subscribe for weekly forecasts. Next week I’ll break down the upcoming New Moon in Virgo and what it means for each rising sign.
Stay grounded,
AstroVedicTime
PS: Don’t know your Vedic rising sign? I’ll be sharing a simple guide next Thursday on how to calculate it and why it matters more than you think.
